Faux Stone via Epoxy

Recently I pulled the trigger on a type of project that I've been meaning to get involved in, namely decorative epoxy.  I've a customer who liked the idea of creating the walls of his new shower from epoxy.  It turned out pretty well, to the point that when I sent my plumber over to tweak something, he said that he liked what I did with the walls.  "Was that granite, or marble, Frank?"  I was speechless for a moment, thinking, "This guy doesn't know what these are really made of!" "They're epoxy, my friend."  He was incredulous, saying he'd have never known. That's high praise from a guy who works on bathrooms daily!  He's seen his share of real marble and granite shower walls, and I fooled him completely.  Cool!

Here's a pic or two of the shower in question.  Interestingly, I am less of a fan than my customers seem to be, but it's all about color.  I like more color than they do, I think.  What do you think?

My next epoxy project consists of creating counter tops for a wet-bar that I'll be building shortly.  Not at all sure what look it will have.  I'll have to sit down with my client and hash that out.  I also just sent a bid for replacing all the kitchen cabinets in a home, and building epoxy countertops for the kitchen.  Hopefully I'll win that one as well.

Things are looking up in the decorative epoxy department for Fix-it Frank LLC.  Let us know if you're interested in a bid for replacing your counter tops, or even going over your existing counters with decorative epoxy.  We can do this for you!
